Fields of Snowy White
Fields of Snowy White
28" x 20"
2011

Thousands of circles are removed in rows to represent fields of cotton ready to be picked. I remember driving down the highway, passing fields of cotton, completely mesmerized by the dizzying radial pattern that happens when passing the straightly plowed and planted rows of crops. A field of defoliated cotton provides a contrast of color and texture, completely brown and white, dessicated and downy.
